The weeds and plants demand attention. In the hoophouse, cucumbers need reminding that they’re supposed to climb UP the nettin. Outdoors, peas are ready to pick, garlic to pull and set to dry out, carrots to thin. And then we’ve got weeds that need to be whacked down where rampant or carefully hoed from among the burgeoning kale and lettuce, apples that need to be thinned from trees so the remaining fruit will grow bigger. And meanwhile, my novel manuscript grumbles-————what about me?
